Reusable Bags vs. Plastic Bags

Turtle Eating Plastic BagThe EPA says that somewhere between 500 billion and a trillion plastic bags are consumed worldwide each year.

Plastic bags photodegrade: they break down into toxic petro-polymers that travel everwhere, contaminating our soil and water and entering the food chain with catastrophic results.

Many countries have already banned the use of plastic bags, and San Francisco became the first U.S. city to do so in the U.S.

Plastic bags are made from oil. China will save 37 million barrels of oil each year due to their ban of free plastic bags.
